File Sharing Software

This page contains a
series of links to software allowing you to share files from your
own PC with other internet users. This is commonly known at
Peer-2-Peer networking. All of these can be considered as suitable
replacements for the now defunct Napster. My own personal favourite
is Morpheus. Morpheus has many benefits for those accessing
Peer services with modems because not only will it search for
alternate locations to download a file from if who you are
downloading from goes offline, but it is very often resumable.
That is to say you can be part way through a download, switch off the
machine, come back the next day and pick up from where you left off.
Most, if not all, of the others do not feature this facility. I
prefer it even though I have a DSL connection. Anyway, I hope you
find the below links useful, for any concerned parents who might
want to download one or two of these programs, most if not all, of
this software has built in Adult Content filters which can be
configured.
